Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara

Depart Nairobi early morning via the scenic Great Rift Valley. Stop at the breathtaking Rift Valley viewpoint for photographs and enjoy a picnic lunch en route. Arrive at the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve in the late afternoon. Check in at your lodge or camp, then, if time permits, enjoy a short game drive in search of lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, and other plains game. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or camp.

Day 2: Maasai Mara

Spend the full day exploring the vast plains of Maasai Mara. Participate in morning and afternoon game drives, spotting the Big Five and other wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and diverse birdlife such as ostriches and guinea fowls. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, stopping at Lake Naivasha for a boat ride and optional bush walk on Crescent Island. Observe hippos, plains mammals, and abundant birdlife. Arrive in Nakuru in the late afternoon, check in at your lodge or camp, and enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru

Spend a full day in Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its spectacular pink flamingoes, white and black rhinos, hippos, buffaloes, and rich birdlife. Discover why this park, along with Lake Naivasha, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or camp.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Lake Bogoria

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Bogoria, famous for its geysers, hot springs, and thousands of birds. Enjoy lunch and afternoon exploration before returning to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Lake Bogoria – Samburu

Travel north, passing the slopes of the Aberdare Ranges and cross the Equator line to Samburu National Reserve. Arrive late afternoon and check in at your lodge or camp. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Samburu National Reserve

Spend the day exploring Samburu National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Look out for elephants, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryx, lions, cheetahs, and Somali ostriches. Bird watchers will enjoy rare species including sunbirds, hornbills, and secretary birds. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.

Day 8: Samburu – Nairobi

After breakfast, depart Samburu for Nairobi. Enjoy scenic views of Mount Kenya, the Aberdare Ranges, and coffee and pineapple plantations along the way. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon and drop off at your hotel or airport.
